Last Friday, Apple released iOS 7.0.6 and 6.1.6 to fix issues with the way their software interpreted SSL certificates. Today, Apple released security updates for Mavericks, Mountain Lion, and Lion. The SSL goto fail bug was a serious problem for anyone using publicly accessible networks. It's a complicated topic and there has been a lot of misinformation spreading about it... but the important thing is to [...]

By | November 2nd, 2013|Categories: Apple News, Tech Talk|Tags: , |0 Comments

Each individual Touch ID sensor will only work on one phone After being contacted by a third-party iPhone repair and modification company that was having an issue getting a replacement Touch ID sensor working on a new iPhone 5s, iMore did some testing. They discovered that each Touch ID sensor, though appearing identical on the outside, will only work with the phone it came with from the factory, suggesting an additional security layer that Apple decided to not to disclose. We first heard about [...]

Apple will stream today’s keynote live!

By | October 23rd, 2012|Categories: Apple News, Featured|Tags: , , |0 Comments

Liveblogs everywhere just lost a huge source of traffic today.  Since Apple will be streaming the keynote live, anyone who can watch video this morning will do just that.  This link should be opened in Safari (Apple's web browser) for the best viewing experience.  You can also watch the event live from your Apple TV.  Just browse the icons for the picture we've attached to this post. If you're at work and cannot do you job with a video in the background (or if that's frowned upon) you still have [...]

Local Search in the iOS 6 Maps App is Broken

By | September 13th, 2012|Categories: Apple News, Featured|Tags: , , |35 Comments

I sat down to play with the Golden Master release of iOS 6 tonight so I could familiarize myself with the software before our customers download it next week.  While the majority of my interactions have been perfectly good, there is one terrible experience that I've spent way too much time trying to figure out. With Apple looking to control more and more of its software, they replaced Google Maps with custom-built mapping software in iOS 6.  Initially, I thought that would be great -- better fun [...]

Refurbished 2011 iMacs, inactive Wi-Fi

By | September 29th, 2011|Categories: Apple News|Tags: , , , , |2 Comments

Wireless everything?  Not quite.  Apple's 2011 iMac marketing material may need to be adjusted a bit. When I received my refurbished 27-inch 2011 iMac two months ago, I couldn't connect it to my Wi-Fi network.  The typical Wi-Fi logo wasn't in the top right corner of the screen.  Even worse, there was absolutely no way to enable the connection from System Preferences. The usual suspect Typically, you can go to the Apple Logo, click System Preferences, then Network and then add the missing interf [...]

RMMR gets covered by iPad News Daily

By | May 25th, 2011|Categories: Apple News|Tags: , , , , |0 Comments

We've seen a lot of traffic coming from iPadNewsDaily.com the last few days (Thanks!).  Turns out, they covered us in their iPad 2 repair article.  We do offer the cheapest repair solution for all ipad repairs.  Our prices start at $129 for 1st generation glass replacement and $179 for iPad 2.  There aren't many companies (if any) that compete.  We're proud of that fact. We're also proud to employ Apple Certified Technicians... we wouldn't let anyone else touch your devices. :) They suggested BB [...]
